Sophie's 1st Dentist Appointment

Sophie did great at her very 1st check-up! She was a little nervous at first, but then the hygienist let her spray her brother and sister with the water pick, and she was just fine. The Hygienist x-rayed, cleaned, flossed, and gave her fluoride with no problem at all, and best of all NO CAVITIES!! Way to go Sophie.

Halloween Night

Just a few pics of me and the munchkins before heading off to the Halloween Party. We have a big horse pasture behind our house were everyone parked their cars for a trunk-or-treat, and then we headed over to the Rennie's (neighbors) for some grub and games. All in all we had a pretty fun night, except for the fact that Zach didn't feel like he got quite enough candy. This year I told the kids I would buy their candy from them for 15 cents a piece, Zach was all for it, but the girls could really care less, Zach did pretty well, And I think I did too!(No sugared out kids) I snuck a few pieces from his stash(ok, well alot) and threw the rest away. The girls really didn't care about the candy, it was all about the costumes this year.

Hope your night was as fun as ours!!!

Family Tradition

Each Year I prepare a Halloween dinner for my kids and husband, it usually takes place the Monday before Halloween. My kids really got a kick out of it the first time I did it so I decided to make it a tradition. This year I really played it up, I even went as far as to dress up as a scary witch and serve them their meal. I set things up in an unfinished room in the basement, which I decorated with cob webs, spiders, and a black light. I found some skeleton head candle holders and put them on the table, and to top it off I found a "creepy sounds "CD at walgreens. To start off with I blind folded them and lead them down the stairs to the where I had things set up, when they were all seated I read them the menu and explained in my scary witch voice to enjoy their meal, because it would be their last (he, he, he, he,- that's my scary witch laugh). I think I traumatized Sophie, She sat stone faced the whole time and barely touched her food, until I took off my witch wig (I'm such a mean mom). Zach and Abbey were really into it and had a great time. I think even Kirk was impressed. After everything was over we went into the TV room to watch the movie Gremlins. It was really a fun night. I think the best part was when it was all over my kids thanked me over and over again for all that I did (that's the icing on the cake!) There's nothing better than grateful kids, I love you guys!!! Until next year-HE, HE, HE, HE, HE ( in case you forgot that's my scary witch laugh)!

Annual Pinson Family Halloween Party

Every year for as long as I can remember we have had this Halloween Party. It has always been held at the Harrisville Cabin in Ogden Utah. Cousins, Aunts and Uncles, Grandparents, and sometimes friends attend. Most everyone dresses up, although the older we get the bigger party poopers we become and dressing up doesn't always happen. We start with a potluck dinner, munchies, and Aunt Addies famous Donuts (they are my favorite). We participate in various activites such as breaking a scary pinata, a spooky story usually told by Grandma, kid movies (this year was "The Great Pumpkin), and alot of catching up with family. It's kind of a long drive from were we live, but I am always glad when we get the chance to go!Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie
(My Sister Natalie and Husband Adam)The Three Jokers
(My Brothers Randy & Ben and then Zach) Mom and Dad
Always good sports to dress up
Don't they look great!

Our Little Gymnast

Sophie loves gymnastics. She first became interested in gymnastics when she saw the Beijing Olympics on TV. She loved to sit with me at night and watch some of the events, and she was even able to point out some of the gymnasts by name. Her favorite was Nastia Liukin. We thought it would be fun this fall to sign her up in a little gymnastics class offered by the city, so she could give it a try herself. The first day before class started she turned to me, and with her signature loud voice said, "Mom will Nastia be there today?" Dang, how do you tell a hopeful 3 year old no. I did my best to dodge the question, and she was soon enthralled in her little class. I must admit my little Sophie is a natural (Thanks to her Dad). She has been having so much fun, I think we will sign her up for a real class when these lessons are over.

Soccer Season comes to an end

Zach had a great season of soccer!! We are so proud of him for really going for it this year and playing hard. I think he scored at least one goal in every game, with a record of 3 goals in just one. His team was really great this year, they even made it to the play-offs! Great job buddy, cant wait for next year.

My Favorite Season

I absolutely love the fall, and around the end of August I start to crave it. I love the crisp cool nights,(when you can sleep with the window open) the not soo hot days, the color changes that start to take place on good old Maple Mountain, Kids in bed earlier because of less sunlight, warmer clothes( there more flattering for me), the transition of the leaves as they turn from green to the most beautiful colors of orange, yellow, purple and you name it, The smell in the air, putting the garden to rest (Hurray), and finally the smell, I can always smell fall comming. My list could go on and on, and Oh and did I mention - I LOVE THE FALL!!

Welcome

Welcome Family and friends!! I have been viewing my friends blogs for a while now, and have been so impressed with how their blogs journal their families lives and keep us all posted on the latest and greatest, that I have been inspired to do the same. I'm not the best at taking pictures, or keeping a journal for that matter, so I am hoping that by doing a blog I will be a little more motivated to do both, I guess we'll see. I hope you enjoy, and I would love to hear you comments and advice!! Lots of love to you all!
